Carmine Porco
Prescient Digital Media

Carmine has over 18 years of experience in the areas of Internet consulting, IT management, and software development. His strengths include employee self-service, e-Learning, customer care and Internet commerce primarily in the financial and retail sector.

Carmine joined Prescient from Cisco Systems where he played a key role in helping Cisco achieve its mandate of stimulating and accelerating the adoption of Internet applications and helping customers succeed in the Internet economy.

Prior to joining Cisco, Mr. Porco has held positions with Deloitte Consulting, Quadravision Communications and Canada Life Assurance.

He is a frequent speaker on Workforce Optimization, Portals and e-Learning having spoken at numerous conferences throughout North America and Europe.

Carmine Porco has a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from the University of Western Ontario and an MBA from the University of Toronto. He lives in Toronto with his family.

Ontario Power Generation

 

Lynda Cain has over 25 years experience in the Communications and Marketing field working in various positions within Ontario Hydro, Ministry of Energy, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Natural Resources. Lynda is currently a Corporate Communications Specialist at Ontario Power Generation. In each position she has held over her career she has established strong branding strategies and integrated communications to achieve effective results. With a clear understanding of her audiences and their diverse needs she has applied broad communication techniques and tools to projects to ensure communication goals are met. She has a Bachelor of Science from the University of Toronto.


Elvira Miletic
Ontario Power Generation

Elvira Miletic has been with Ontario Power Generation (OPG) for 19 years. In her current role as Communications Specialist - Web and New Media, Elvira has pioneered the introduction of a new web architecture, a new content management system, and web-based guidelines for process within HR. Her previous experience in a broad variety of HR roles, including Compensation and Benefits Specialist, involved liasing with OPG's Health Insurance carrier, resolving employee benefits concerns and providing information for collective agreement negotiations. Elvira's HR background has provided a foundation to enable her to play a pivotal role in the management of OPG web-enabled flexible benefits enrolment, automation of Employee Information Management Reports, and in going live with the new HR intranet site.

 


Diane Patell-Pernari
Canada Post Corporation

 

Diane Patell-Pernari, is the Director, Employee Communications for Canada Post. She is responsible for overseeing internal employee communication through a variety of media, including print publications, broadcast television, video conferencing, videos, posters, brochures, face-to-face forums, electronic bulletins and the intranet. Her professional experience at Canada Post includes strategic communications planning, labour relations and systems research and development. She has lead both large and small communication teams in the delivery of complex communication programs including crisis communication, negotiations and contingency planning.

 


Jane Wong Ferris
Manulife Financial

 

Jane Wong Ferris is a senior communications professional, with over 10 years experience in many facets of communications. Her areas of expertise include: marketing communications, corporate communications and public relations. Her current role at Manulife Financial is Director of Internal Communications, looking after global internal messaging for more than 45,000 employees and agents around the world. Most recently, she played a key communications role in the Manulife-John Hancock merger (including Hancock's Canadian subsidiary, Maritime Life). This transaction created the largest publicly traded company in Canada and the fourth largest insurance company in the world. One of the cornerstones to keeping employees informed during the merger and subsequent integration was the creation of an intranet accessible across all three companies. This intranet has now evolved to become the primary electronic vehicle for information and business tools for the combined company. Prior to joining Manulife, Jane held positions with Ernst & Young, Toronto Stock Exchange and William Mercer. She is a graduate of the University of Western Ontario, with a B.A. in Economics and an Honours B.A. in Political Science. She also holds a post-graduate diploma in Public Relations from Humber College.

 


Geoff Le Quelenec
Suncor Energy Products Inc.

 

Geoff Le Quelenec, of Suncor Energy Products Inc., has been an Internet developer since the days of the Mosaic browser. He has worked on web sites for a diverse range of clients including realtors, legal professionals, art galleries, publishing companies and online radio stations. Currently a Web Developer for Sunoco Inc. in the Business Intelligence Division, he helped to create Sunoco.ca, one of the first Oil and Gas industry B2C web sites.

 


Terry Lister, MBA
IBM Business Consulting Services

Terry Lister, MBA, leads HR strategy consulting for Canada within IBM Business Consulting Services. In this role, she is works with HR leaders and business executives in designing and implementing more effective approaches to managing a high performing workforce . Throughout her consulting career, Terry has focused on helping organizations achieve high performance through improvements to management practices, including employee communications, community development and culture change. Her clients cover a wide spectrum of private and public sector organizations, in Canada and internationally, giving her a broad perspective on current and evolving practices in organization performance and productivity improvement, and balanced scorecards.
