Tom Maracle, National Manager, Xerox Canada. Mr. Maracle is leading the company's efforts to support IM capacity development through Information Management planning, policy development, training and implementation in Aboriginal communities. He is also responsible for the Xerox National Aboriginal Program. Mr. Maracle has spearheaded and Xerox has funded the first-ever Aboriginal Community Records and Information Management training program with partners Southern Alberta Institute of Technology and the Association for Records Managers and Administrators. Tom's experience spans more than twenty years in private industry and federal government. Tom is also a co-chair of the Private Industry Panel for the Annual National Aboriginal Connectivity Forum.

Alexa Brewer is the Senior Director of the Information Management Strategies Division, Chief Information Officer Branch, Treasury Board Secretariat. Her division is developing and implementing an Information Management (IM) Program to create an infrastructure for IM services in the Government of Canada (GC). The IM Program will support responsible stewardship of information assets, transparency of government decisions, availability of information and compliance with information management policies and legislation. Her division also provides strategic direction, advice and guidance to departments and agencies to aid compliance with the Policy on the Management of Government Information. |
 Jennifer Kerr Ontario Ministry of the Attorney General/Ontario Ministry of Community Safety and Correctional Services

Jennifer Kerr has been a Senior Information Management Analyst with the Justice Sector Knowledge Management Project since its inception in 2000. As part of the Project Team, Jennifer helped develop a sector-wide Knowledge Management Strategy and Controllership Framework. She has developed Knowledge Management tools and communications material and regularly gives presentations at both the staff and senior management level. In September 2003, Jennifer launched the Knowledge Transfer Guide, a ground-breaking Knowledge Management tool to help identify and capture key knowledge from exiting employees. This tool recently won a Silver Award at the 2005 Public Sector Quality Fair, and is now used as part of the KM curriculum for senior managers across the Ontario Public Service. Jennifer is currently developing a Knowledge Management Implementation Guide as part of a KM Self-help Kit and a Key Knowledge Identification Tool to help managers proactively identify key knowledge, functions and positions within their business areas so that they can develop effective knowledge retention plans.
Prior to her current position, she held a variety of positions in the Ministry of the Attorney General's Court Services Division then worked as a Business Consultant in the ministry's Corporate Services Management Division.

 Yves Marion Public Works and Government Services Canada

Yves Marion is Acting Director, Knowledge and Information Management Directorate, CIO Sector at PWGSC. Mr. Marion has over 15 years experience as a team leader in corporate management environments ranging from Finance, Resource Management, Program Management, Socio-economic policy, Information and Knowledge Management in both the public and private sector. Mr. Marion was Corporate Manager of Resource Management in Finance during the transfer of Transport Canada's Air Navigation System to Nav Canada (not-for-profit private enterprise) in 1996. He is also the recipient of the Governor General's award for excellence in public service.

 Lynda Morrissey Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat

Lynda Morrissey, Senior Analyst, IM Practice and Performance Assessment, Treasury Board of Canada, Secretariat, has been with the federal government for 31 years, most of this time with predecessor departments of the former Human Resources Development Canada. She has worked in such areas as Facilities Management, HR Services, IT Systems in application development, implementation and training and in Policy and Procedural Analysis and Development. She assumed responsibility for Records Management nationally at HRDC in 1993 and in 2000 agreed to add management of the departmental Library to her responsibilities. She joined the Chief Information Officer Branch of the Treasury Board Secretariat in July 2003, specifically to lead the development of a strategy for the implementation of the MGI policy.

 Eric Poirier Canadian Heritage Information Network

Eric Poirier is Director, IM/IT Solutions, Canadian Heritage Information Network. Mr. Poirier's IT career spans 18 years and covers numerous roles. He has worked as a developer, business analyst, tester, technical/business architect, product manager and project manager. He has worked in large and small, private and public sector software development projects including implementation of Enterprise Resource Planning for Canada Post Corporation, where he was responsible for all development pertaining to legacy Financial, HR and Communications applications. As Manager of Development and Support, he was a key player in the development and launch of ePost, a mail-presentment and bill payment system developed jointly by CPC and BMO's Cebra. Currently, he is directing 5 multi-year projects for the Canadian Heritage Information Network.

 Robert Provick Library and Archives Canada

Bob Provick is the Manager, IM Capacity, Performance and Outreach in the Government Information Management Office at Library and Archives Canada. He has over 30 years experience in IM and has presented many times nationally and internationally. Since April 2003, Bob and his team have been responsible for supporting the application of the IMCC in the Government of Canada.

 Elspeth Shtern Ontario Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing
|
Elspeth Shtern is the Director of Corporate Planning in the Ontario Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing. Her branch is responsible for a variety of corporate policy and planning functions, including leading a major project currently underway to improve the records and document management processes in the ministry. Elspeth is a member of the Ontario government's Information Management Directions Committee and has worked in the Ontario government for 18 years in a variety of positions.

Sheila Taylor is General Manager - Southern Ontario, for CONDAR Consulting Inc. She has more than 15 years of records and information management (RIM) experience. Prior to joining CONDAR in 1999, she was employed as the Manager of Corporate Records at the City of Kitchener and as a Records and Information Analyst at the City of Toronto. Many of her public sector consulting assignments have included the development of RIM strategies and the assessment of existing RIM practices. She is also a Certified Records Manager (CRM). |
