What If What Next™

 

The founder of What If What Next, Howard Oliver for more than 20 years has been an entrepreneur, writer, thought leader, PR Guru, business development strategist, technology evangelist, manager and consultant for numerous service industrial and high technology companies. Clients in technology and other industries recognize him as a driven, highly creative and disciplined thinker.

He is a passionate advocate of citizen journalism in the "Business Blogsphere". In his current client project work, writings (http://prmeasure@blogware.com/blog) and speaking he is charting new ground in this rapidly evolving field that is making news daily. He has created groundbreaking Weblogs that influence the media, open new client dialogue, uncover revenue opportunities, allow for knowledge sharing and build communities of interest. He is also an expert in PR measurement and effectiveness with a focus on micro-persuasion. Howard is an "in demand" speaker at a variety of PR, marketing and technology conferences every year.

Before establishing What If What Next, Howard worked in alliance management and development as a Director at The Warren Company, a leading American Alliance consultancy. At the Warren Company, Howard worked on assignments for such leading corporations as IBM, Oracle, Bausch & Lomb, and Accenture. He holds an MBA from Wilfrid Laurier University, Waterloo, ON, and a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Montreal, Quebec's McGill University; he has taught Marketing and Entrepreneurial Studies Courses at Laurier and Toronto's Centennial College.

He has honed his nautical sense sailing the Great Lakes over the last 25 years (hence his firm's brand). He and his twin boys Alex and Jonathan and daughter Rachel most recently sailed from Toronto to the famed Thousand Islands for an extended summer cruise aboard his sloop - The Boat.

Over the years Kevin has worked with technology start-ups such as Sierra Wireless through to national and multinational companies that include Rogers AT&T Wireless and Xerox.

Kevin specializes in media relations, marketing communications, and public relations planning.

 

Brigette Armitage, ABC
Scotiabank Group

 

Brigette Armitage is a senior communications professional with over 10 years experience in change management communications, public relations and public affairs. Ms. Armitage is Senior Manager, Communications at Scotiabank, with responsibility for promoting communications as a key strategic partner in the business planning and decision making process within the Bank's Shared Services division. In her role, Ms. Armitage leads the communications function and provides advice and expertise on regulatory, process improvement and change management initiatives directed at Shared Services employees, its customers and business partners across the Bank. Prior to joining Scotiabank, Ms. Armitage has provided strategic communications services to corporate and regulatory organizations within the financial services, technology and building industries in Canada including the Canadian Bankers Association, Fleishman-Hillard Canada, Necho Systems Corp. and Intesa Bank Canada.

 


David Bradfield
iStudio Canada Inc.

 

David Bradfield is Vice-President, Strategic Communications of iStudio Canada Inc., one of Canada's leading web communications firms. He helps organizations develop a strategic approach to e-communication that enhances the business and communication value of their online initiatives. Prior to joining iStudio, David emerged as one of Canada's Internet PR pioneers, working for firms such as National Public Relations, GreyInteractive, Lasso Communications and Fleishman-Hillard Canada Inc.

 


Eugene Knapik
Canada Post Corporation

 

Eugene Knapik is the manager of Internal Communications for Canada Post in the Greater Toronto Area. Eugene and his team create and execute communications strategies to enable the success of operations improvement initiatives throughout the GTA. His team has recently worked through a major regional intranet redevelopment to create a flexible tool that is aligned with operations business plans and integrated with regional print publications. Eugene has 18 years experience with Canada Post. His roles have included change management and training development, as well as extensive experience managing plant operations.

 


Jean McLuhan
Farm Credit Canada (FCC)

 

Jean McLuhan is the intranet manager at Farm Credit Canada (FCC). During her three years at FCC, she has focused on the strategic role of employee communication in achieving business results, first as a senior communication strategist and subsequently as the manager of employee communication. In her current position, she works with cross-functional teams to give employees the information they need to do their jobs and leverage information as a competitive asset in meeting customer needs. Jean has been a communications professional for 12 years and is a member of the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC).

 


Eli Singer

Eli Singer is a Strategist, Marketing & Communications at Spencer Francey Peters. Eli develops integrated marketing strategies leveraging the Internet, new media and online communities. An accomplished strategist, Eli participated in writing the business bestseller The Power of the 2x2 Matrix, recognized by the Globe and Mail as the top Canadian authored business title of 2004. Eli is a strategy lead with SFP, working internally to develop new initiatives and with clients including Allstream, BMW and Critical Path. In 2005 he spoke to viral marketing, blogging and podcasting at the 2005 Canadian Marketing Association national convention. Prior to joining SFP, Eli consulted for Fortune 500 firms including Fujitsu, General Motors and Hewlett-Packard, as well as a variety of start-ups. He writes a regular technology column for The Torontoist blog and is a contributor to Slashdot.
